Your Audition

The audition process will take about 5-10 minutes with Music Director Andrew Lewis and the Chair of our Artistic Development Committee. An accompanist will be provided. Please prepare one classical, choral, or musical theatre piece (memorization not required) and bring three copies to your scheduled audition. Your sight reading skills, musicality, intonation and tonal memory will be assessed.

Auditions are held in Building H (Arts Center), Room H-122 at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Dr. Elgin, IL. Directions: Go through the Bldg H/Arts Center main entrance (large triangular overhang). Walk through the lobby straight to the back; turn left. Make a right at the two water fountains; room H122 is on your left.

As an in-residence organization at Elgin Community College, participation in the Chorale is considered a class and can be taken for credit if your residence is located in Elgin Community College’s district.  The class meets for weekly rehearsals every Tues. from 7:00-9:30 p.m. in ECC Building H.  Membership is $200 for each semester which includes tuition, music and overhead costs.  Women are required to purchase a floor-length black concert dress through the choir (approximately $75) and men a black tuxedo, cummerbund and tie.
