Summer Singing Academy

A summer workshop experience for adult singers

Each August, the Summer Singing Academy welcomes singers for an engaging series of workshops led by Elgin Master Chorale artistic staff.

Participants explore topics such as:

  • Vocal technique
  • Choral artistry
  • Music literacy
  • Ensemble singing
  • Conducting and rehearsal skills
  • Special interest sessions

Whether you're preparing for the upcoming season or simply looking to grow as a musician, the Summer Singing Academy offers an encouraging environment to learn alongside fellow singers.

Educational Connections

Bringing live choral music into the classroom

Educational Connections is the Elgin Master Chorale's signature school outreach initiative, introducing hundreds of students each year to the power of live choral music through engaging, curriculum-connected performances.

Each season explores a unique theme that encourages students to think critically, connect emotionally, and experience music in meaningful new ways.

Coming February 12, 2027: Emotional Intelligence

This year's program will explore how music helps us recognize, understand, and express emotions while building empathy, resilience, and human connection. Through thoughtfully selected repertoire and interactive storytelling, students will discover how choral music can help us better understand ourselves and one another.

Serving more than 500 students annually, Educational Connections continues to inspire the next generation of musicians, learners, and arts advocates throughout the Fox Valley.
